Kuwai Hana begins his creative process not with theory, but with physical sensation. Layer upon layer of specially formulated industrial paint is sprayed, dried, and fixed under high heat. Through this accumulation of processes, a distinctive texture emerges.
The heated paint film cools and hardens into a solid surface. As the characteristic metallic silver shimmer intersects with deep black, a moist, contemplative depth settles across the canvas. The silver, in particular, does not assert itself strongly; instead, it emits a gentle glow that shifts subtly with the angle of light. It is restrained, yet leaves a lasting resonance.
Quiet, profound, and somehow tender. A work that invites a pause within the flow of everyday life.
