Set against a black-toned canvas, this work is distinguished by the striking linear traces of pink and blue that emerge through the process of carving. Formed by cutting through multiple layers of paint, these lines reveal a surface that subtly shifts with the angle of light, creating delicate variations in expression.
The black spiral motifs placed above and below are inspired by Komainu, traditional guardian figures long regarded as protectors.
