This artwork is grounded in a deep, lustrous black, quietly illuminated by linear expressions of violet and spiral symbols rendered with rare 24-karat gold specialty paint. The violet lines, revealed through the meticulous carving of multiple layers of paint, shift subtly depending on the angle and distance of the light, lending the work a sense of depth and a refined tension.

The spiral symbols placed at the top and bottom of the composition are inspired by komainu, traditional Japanese guardian figures.
