猫脚テーブル / Cabriole Leg Table

完全ハンドメイドによる孤高のテーブル。優美な曲線を描く脚や天板を下方より支える幕板や隅木に相当する部分はスチール製。そして天板には古代神代杉を配します。金属部分の表面処理に関しましては古の加工技術と言える特殊なハンダを使用しその質感を整え、最終的に天板共々銀嶺仕上げて完結致しました。

この圧倒的な存在感はまさに唯一無二。同じ物はこの世に二つと存在を致しません。儚ささや孤高を湛えるこのテーブルの姿を初めて目にした時、突如、以下にご紹介をさせて頂くJanis Joplinの歌声が蘇りました。

1960年台後半のカウンター・カルチャー時代における偉大なる女性ロック・シンガーであったJanisですが、その生涯は短く僅か27歳で死去。時には激しく、そして時には優しく。聞く者の心を震わすその歌声は全て伝説となってしまいました。彼女が残した曲の中で “Little Girl Blue”と言う何とも儚き慈悲に満ちた名曲があるのですが、この猫脚のテーブルの佇まいやイメージにはその曲を歌う彼女の優しき歌声が宿っている様に思えてなりません。

個々の商品で銀色の発色や風合いなどが異なる場合があります。また銀膜の表面に極小のピンホールや気泡跡、塗料垂れや釉薬垂れなどが見受けられる場合もありますが品質に問題はございません。陶磁器特有の、また完全手造り品による世界に一つしかない個々の特徴や個性として末長くお楽しみ頂きたく思います。

A Singularly Crafted Table, Born of Pure Handwork

This table stands in solitude—an embodiment of handcrafted artistry. Its cabriole legs trace elegant curves, while the steel elements beneath—comprising the structural apron and internal corner supports—offer both strength and contrast. For the tabletop, we have chosen Jindai Sugi, an ancient and sacred Japanese cedar that has slumbered beneath the earth for centuries.

The steel components have been treated using a rare, traditional soldering method—a technique reminiscent of an ancient craft—bestowing upon them a texture both raw and refined. The entire piece, including the tabletop, has been brought to completion with what we call the “Silver Ridge Finish.”

The result is a creation of overwhelming presence—a truly one-of-a-kind existence. No two of these tables could ever be the same.

When I first laid eyes on this piece, imbued as it is with fragility and solitude, a voice from the past stirred within me. That voice belonged to Janis Joplin—a legendary figure of the late 1960s counterculture, whose powerful yet tender voice shook the hearts of all who heard her. Though her life was tragically brief, ending at just 27, her music remains eternal.

Among her songs is one deeply moving, full of mercy and melancholy: “Little Girl Blue.” In the quiet grace and posture of this cabriole-leg table, I felt her voice take form—soft, sorrowful, and unforgettable.
